Swiftwater Sports is the Washington state dealer for AIRE rafts; they are our number one seller in inflatable river boats.
AIRE rafts are manufactured in Meridian, Idaho (a suburb of Boise). They are all constructed with bladders (AIRE Cells) zippered into the boat's hull and floor. The PVC (plastic) coated dacron polyester fabric the boats are made from is thermowelded and sewn together so no gluing is used.
Each raft comes with its self-bailing floor not laced in. It takes about an hour and a half to lace the floor in. For $125 the factory will install the floor before shipping. With each raft is a repair kit and video. The video explains how to lace the floor in. The video also explains how to repair the boats.
The rafts' hulls are made of a 1670 denier, 35 ounce, PVC (vinyl) coated, dacron polyester fabric. The heavy-duty floors are made of a 1670 denier, 43 ounce, PVC (vinyl) coated, dacron polyester fabric.
14-mil urethane AIRE Cell bladders are inside the hulls, and AIRE Cell bladders (420 denier nylon with an 8 mil urethane coating) are in the floors. Access to the AIRE Cells is through full-length double zippers in the hull and floor. Spring-loaded low-profile C-7 Leafield valves are used; the floor also has a Leafield pressure-relief valve.
All the rafts have continuous curved tubes with fewer cross seams. They are priced with two thwarts (inflated cross tubes), but can be purchased without them (deduct $175 per thwart).
New for 2008: All the R and D Series rafts come with 43 ounce gray frame chafe strips.
The boats have a ten year no fault warranty on workmanship and materials.
They are available in blue, yellow, gray, purple, red, and green. The heavy-duty gray floor material makes up the bottom third of the hull.
A Sealed Floor Pocket (SFP) lace-in floor can be ordered for all AIRE rafts except the R186. The SFP floor has a waterproof zipper (with protective laced cover) at the front end of the floor which allows access to the floor bladder. The regular zipper and floor drain holes have been eliminated. The SFP floor makes the raft faster and more maneuverable. Getting your raft with an SFP floor instead of the regular self-bailing floor adds $400 to the price of your AIRE raft.
The Puma and Super Puma are excellent one-day fishing rafts. The Puma is comfortable for one fisher and a rower; the Super Puma holds two fishers and a rower.
They are also very maneuverable paddle rafts. The Puma can hold up to five paddlers (950 pound carrying capacity), the Super Puma can hold six (1050 pound carrying capacity), and the Super Duper Puma can hold seven (1150 pound carrying capacity).
These rafts are wider and more oval shaped; therefore, they hold more multi-day gear than the Puma Series.
The R and D rafts have the traditional, familiar shape and feel. They are rounded in the front and back.
The tubes on the D series diminish in diameter in the front and the back which provides added interior space for paddlers’ feet and carrying cargo.
The narrower E raft has an elliptical bow and makes a great paddle raft with a lower squared off stern for the paddle captain.

The AIRE Tributary rafts are manufactured to AIRE’s specifications in China.
A repair kit is included with each Tributary raft. The kit includes extra material, a tube of Aquaseal™, and a Leafield valve wrench.
The boats come in light blue and have a five-year warranty on workmanship and materials.
The 9.5 and 12.0 models have non-self-bailing standard floors (SF). The standard floor Tributary rafts are in limited supply.
The 9.5 SF has four air chambers: the hull has two chambers and each of the two removable gray thwarts has a chamber.
The 12.0 SF has six air chambers: the hull has three chambers and each of the three removable gray thwarts has a chamber.
The standard floor Tributary rafts are in very limited supply.
The tubes on the self-bailing Tributaries are slightly diminished in the front and back. The self-bailing Tributary's self-bailing floors are laced in at the factory; they have Leafield pressure-relief valves in the floors.
The Tributary 12.0 SB has seven air chambers: the hull has three chambers, each of the three removable gray thwarts has a chamber, and the self-bailing floor is a single chamber.
The Tributary 13.0 SB has eight air chambers: the hull has four chambers, each of the three removable gray thwarts has a chamber, and the self-bailing floor is a single chamber.
