Achilles Rafts

Achilles rafts are manufactured in Japan. These top quality rafts are constructed of Dupont Hypalon® rubber coated fabrics. Each raft comes with stainless steel D-rings, frame wear patches (except the RS-110), and a repair kit. The air mattress-type, self-bailing (S/B) floors on the RV Series rafts are laced in and have pressure relief valves.

Most of the rafts we rent are made by Achilles; in our rental fleet we have several RV Self-bailers. Usually these Achilles rafts are rented for use on local Washington rivers, like the Yakima, Skagit and Wenatchee, but sometimes they get rented and taken to the ends of the earth. An adventuresome customer sent this picture of a 12½ foot Achilles he rented for a trip on the Canning River in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in June, 2004.

The RS Series

All the rafts in this series are blue with standard (non-self-bailing) floors. Their hull material is a 420 denier 36 ounce Hypalon® coated nylon fabric. Their floor material is a 1260 denier 38 ounce neoprene rubber coated nylon fabric. An additional layer of floor material is glued on top of the hull half way up the sides of the raft.

The three-chambered hulls (the RS-110 is a two-chambered) have two attached thwarts, 13 stainless steel D-rings (10 on the RS-110), and military valves. There are black frame wear patches on top of the tubes (except on the RS-110).

Each RS Series boat comes with a repair kit and a five year warranty on materials and workmanship.

RV Self-Bailing Series

All the rafts in this series are red with standard self-bailing (S/B) laced-in floors. Their hull and floor material is an 840 denier 38 ounce Hypalon® coated nylon fabric (their larger 156 and 180 boats are made of a heavier 46-48 ounce nylon material). Their floor material is a 1260 denier 50 ounce neoprene coated nylon fabric (the floors in the 110 and 126 models are made with a 44 ounce material). An additional layer of floor material is glued on top of the hull half way up the sides of the raft.

The four-chambered hulls have two laced-in removable thwarts, 15 stainless steel D-rings (10 on the 110 and 13 on the 126), and military valves. There are black frame wear patches on top of the tubes.

Each RV Self-bailing boat comes with a repair kit and a five year warranty on materials and workmanship.
