Policies and Deposits

Below are Swiftwater's rental policies and deposits.

Pickup and return policy

Equipment is rented for the actual days used. Reasonable travel time is not charged for equipment going out of state.

Generally, equipment can be picked up the afternoon of the business day prior to the day of the rental, and, unless otherwise needed, returned the morning of the next business day.

Weekend Rentals

April 1— September 30

From April 1 through September 30, all equipment picked up on Friday afternoon and returned Monday morning will be charged at the two-day rate. The only weekend reservations taken during this period will be for the full two-day weekend.

If you want to rent boats just for Saturday, however, they need to be returned by 4 p.m. Saturday. If you want to rent boats just for Sunday, call on Saturday to see if any are available.

Any other equipment (wetsuits, booties, etc.) being rented for the weekend during this period will also be charged a two-day rate.

Equipment being rented for the weekend can be picked up on Friday and returned on Monday.

October 1— March 31

During the off season (October 1 to March 31), rental charges are just for the actual days used on the weekends. During this period, reservations will be taken for a single day's rental on the weekend.

Reservation policy

A rental reservation is made when 50% of the full rental charge is paid. Reservations can be made over the phone by using Visa, Mastercard, or Discover. The balance of the rental fee is paid at the time the equipment is checked out.

If the rental reservation is cancelled at least 10 days before the rental date, a full refund is given. Otherwise, the reservation deposit is credited toward a future rental within the next 12 months.

Damage deposit

Accident insurance is not available, so the renter—by signing the rental agreement—assumes all responsibility for lost or damaged rental equipment as well as for the safety of those using the equipment.

A separate refundable damage deposit of $75 per boat is required at the time of the rental. Damage deposits are refundable after the returned equipment has been inspected. The most convenient way to leave a damage deposit is with a Discover, Visa, or Mastercard number.

If a raft is returned dirty, a $10 cleaning fee is collected. $25 per boat chamber is charged to remove water that has gotten inside the boat's inflatable hull. Full retail replacement value is charged for lost or broken equipment.
